2024 & beyond plus GDPR

What is the future for Foodservice Training?
Since we all 'unlocked' life has pretty much gone back to the way it used to be.  However, the industry I have worked in for the last 30 years has suffered permanently due to rising costs of everything.  Take-aways and delivery services seemingly the big winners, as we see it.

Transport issues and Brexit have added a double whammy to all of this.  Staff shortages, food shortages and a changing customer base all serve to depress the industry's recovery.  But this was never about getting back to normal for me.

I don't believe we should stitch the old life and the new together and expect something the same.  We need to reinvent ourselves and our lifestyles for a new world.  We have also re-thought our place in todays workplace.

And so we have decided to only focus on existing contracts and customers throughout 2024 and hopefully....slow down a bit and think about working fewer hours.

We are not closing down!  We are choosing to SLOW down by only attending our existing customers.

Overheads and cost outlays for us have continued to increase and for spare parts, we have had no choice but to pass on the increases.  Whilst we have always tried to be fair with our pricing over the last two years, the inevitable arrived.

We have had to revise our charges for 2024 to ensure that it is actually worth being self-employed.  Rates went up to £50/hr from January 1st 2024 plus a fuel cost-per-mile travelled (return to base).  This also covers the 'wear and tear' aspects of using a vehicle too.

GDPR
To make it as easy as possible we decided on the approach of positively checking with the people we hold data for and if they wanted to remain on our data base, or not, so that we can continue to use those details in the course of our work.  We asked for a one-word answer, YES or NO via email reply.  Nice and simple we think you'll agree.

The data that we store is kept to an absolute minimum, (Name - Company - Company address - Position - Telephone number(s) and an email address).

Like many small companies, this information is only stored for the purpose of either

1.  Sending you invoices/ statements/ quotations/ service reports/ reminders/ purchase orders - that is, normal business stuff.

2.  Being able to identify you as one of our existing customers should you contact us.

3.  Booking and or arranging work with you.

We definitely DO NOT share your information, in fact it is only stored securely on a limited number of devices and only accessible by one person in the company - Anthony Lee, the director.
We don't bombard you with circulars or spam email either.

We want you to have a choice of where your personal details are stored and so, if at any point in the future you decide you do not want this data to be held by us, simply send us a simple request via email to foodservicetraining@gmail.com or phone / text us on 07944 363490 and your record will be wiped - simple!
